Spicy Lentil Dumplings
SERVINGS: 12-15 pcs


INGREDIENTS:

1 3/4 cup Moong dal
1/4 cup cup Channa dal

1/2 cup grated coconut
1 inch grated ginger
2-3 green chillies chopped fine
A pinch of asaftoeda
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 sprig curry leaves chopped fine
2-3 tbsp cilantro chopped fine
Salt to taste
Ghee for greasing steamer

Optional- add any of these for extra flavor and nutrition:
1/2 cup chopped dill leaves/methi leaves
1/2 cup finely grated zucchini optional
1/4 cup finely chopped onion


DIRECTIONS:

Soak dals for 2 hrs. Drain and
grind dal very coarsely along with cumin seeds and curry leaves in a food processor with no water. Pulse for just few seconds. If it is too fine the balls may not turn out soft.
Mix in all other ingredients
Make into oblong shapes and steam for 15 mins in a greased idli stand.
Serve hot with ghee/coconut chutney/green chutney or Majjigehuli.(yogurt and coconut curry — tbd)
